The German National Honor Society ( Deutsche Ehrenverbindung, also known as Delta Epsilon Phi), is an honor society for outstanding students of the German language. It functions as a branch of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), and was founded in Coral Gables, Florida, USA, in 1968.
For induction, a student must have completed at least three semesters of German classes, with a 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale, calculated on a cumulative basis for all semesters. The student must also have at least a 3.6 GPA in their other classes, although this prerequisite varies by school.
